Marv Schulz came to Albert Lea in 1965 at which time he worked at "Streater's Store Fixtures". It was during his five years there, that he learned "the love of wood". Marv was next hired as forman for a Truss Rafter company in Clarks Grove. During his precious little spare time, he began repairing houses, and started making cabinets and furniture. In 1971 Marv started his own business "Schulz Construction". |
| In 1973 Marv built his first complete house and for the next 22 years, until 1995, Marv built custom-designed, high quality homes. |
| 1995 found Marv getting back into furniture and cabinet repair, and making specialty items. Except for some part time periods from 1998 to 2001 when he worked for "Haas Woodwork" in the twin cities, this is what Marv has been doing. |
| Marv says, "I've been in one location now, for the last 7 years, making fireplace surrounds, designing room interiors, building custom cabinets and repairing 'old furniture' that people consider 'heirlooms'. This has all been from 'Word of Mouth'." |
